We created Vigna Cacià to share the legacy of the vineyard founded by Domenico in 1934. In fact, Cacià is the nickname of our family and the name of our first vineyard in the early twentieth century.

WINE INFORMATION

Grape variety: Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cabernet sauvignon and Canaiolo.

VINEYARDS

Production area: family organic vineyards in Carassai, Petritoli and Sant’Elpidio a Mare

Soil type: mainly calcareous and clayey with varying proportions of gravel

WINEMAKING

The harvest is determined by 4-parameter maturation curve: sugar, total acidity, pH, phenols.

Vinification with maceration of the skins together with the must for 10 to 15 days in stainless-steel tanks at 22-26 C.

After the first decantation in November, maturation for 18 months in French tonneaux and then aging in concrete.

WINEMAKER TASTING NOTES

Dark ruby in colour with ripe berry character. Full bodied, fruity with elegant spicy flavour. Laced with good tannic structure.

WINE PAIRING

Thanks to its structure and harmony, it is ideal with important red meat dishes, game, but also long-aged cheeses.
