WINE INFORMATION
Traditionally Rosso Piceno DOC is a blend of the two most important red grape varieties of the region, Montepulciano and Sangiovese.
Bottle weight: ~ 400 g
VINEYARDS
Production area: family organic vineyards in Carassai, Petritoli and Sant’Elpidio a Mare.
Soil type: medium texture, with a lot of gravel.
WINEMAKING
The harvest is determined by 4-parameter maturation curve: sugar, total acidity, pH, phenols. Vinification with meceration of the skins with the must for 10 to 15 days in stainless-steel tanks at 22-26 C.
After the first decantation in November, maturation for 6 – 9 months in stainless-steel tanks with one decantation per month for cleaning and oxygenation purposes.
WINEMAKER TASTING NOTES
Rosso Piceno DOC, characterized by intense aromas of red and black fruits, is a wine of great structure, measured tannins, long persistence. Suitable for aging.
WINE PAIRING
Ideal with grilled meat or lasagna, Rosso Piceno DOC is also recommended with gulasch.
